A Summer-Ready Staple: Handmade Towels from Turkey

Happy summer everyone!  With pool days and beach trips in mind, I wanted to share some of AOW's favorite handmade terry towels, handwoven in Turkey. These beauties truly withstand the test of time – the texture and quality are exquisite, and their neutral color palette will never go out of style.

While in Turkey last year I was reminded of how difficult it is to source towels that are entirely handmade. I am delighted to represent a partner that is committed to sustaining this age-old craft, employing families that are dedicated to handmade practices. The towels are made from 100% hand-loomed, organic curly cotton, making them perfect year-round staples.

Only a few factories continue to support 100% handmade weaving practices. That’s why I find this to be such an important industry to support in terms of extending the longevity of this craft. The quality that is achieved by such thoughtful practices is markedly better.
