Caravana Americana, Mexico City: A Platform for Contemporary Design and Exquisite Craftsmanship

I just returned from Caravana Americana, one of Mexico City’s most exciting design fairs. This is a retail show perfect for boutique owners looking to purchase unique, handmade, and design-driven products. I got to see more than 70 brands up close in all categories including fashion, furniture, lifestyle accessories, and traditional handicraft.

This show is small but well curated, only allowing space for original and high-quality enterprises to exhibit. Brands featured at Caravana Americana show respect for traditional and quality craftsmanship. This is at the core of many of the products featured.

This is only the show’s second year, but it has quickly become a platform to showcase the best of emerging talent throughout Latin America. The show’s founder, Regina Barrios, owns a gorgeous shop called Lago DF, right in the heart of Mexico City. Here are few snapshots of products that caught my eye during this three-day event.
