PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT: Recycled Glassware from Egypt

This week, I am delighted to share one of the most beloved products of the year: recycled glassware. I’ve been wondering what’s behind this material’s recent uptick in popularity. I suppose it’s partly because after a year inside people are reaching for that much-needed social cocktail. At the same time, I think their handmade quality reflects a desire for a sense of calm and quiet. The beauty of these glasses is that they’re the perfect gift no matter the intention behind their use. I am excited to share some beautiful options from my partners in Egypt that I am representing. Each piece is mouth-blown in an atelier in Cairo, supporting some of the area’s last master craftsmen. The small bubbles in the glass give a natural, handmade feel that’s really lovely. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a dying art, so I feel very strongly about supporting this group.

Eco-Friendly Tumblers & Glassware from Oaxaca!

This week I’d like to show you some of what's new from my glassware partner in Oaxaca. They are now offering their entire eco-friendly, recycled glassware lines in new shades of smokey white, olive green, and dark grey. When I say eco-friendly, I really mean it. 95% of the glassware is made from recycled bottles collected in the nearby neighborhoods in Oaxaca. They mix the glass waste with cooking oil to create their crystal-quality glassware. Discarded glass is crushed and melted before each piece is blown by hand.
