Lets' Explore: Ikat in Indigo

This week we dive into indigo ikat, designed by a French brand that I am repping who works with artists in Guatemala and Mexico. There is so much to explore within their full collection but I wanted to start by sharing this stunning fabric.

When I say eco-friendly, I really mean it. 95% of the glassware is made from recycled bottles collected in the nearby neighborhoods in Oaxaca. They mix the glass waste with cooking oil to create their crystal-quality glassware. Discarded glass is crushed and melted before each piece is blown by hand.

Discover: Turkish Textiles and Loungewear!

Today I’m exploring beautiful loungewear from a partner vendor in Turkey. We are going to dive into a material called sile. It’s a hand-loomed, thin muslin cotton fabric that’s been made since ancient times and it’s a Turkish specialty. Sile is perfect for summer accessories: loungewear, beach blankets, scarves, you name it. The fabric originated in the Sile village of Istanbul and is still woven on wooden looms that date back centuries.
